Pendants

Fragments of stone pendants; Late Neolithic. Finally, pendants are objects that have one or more holes. These are also made mostly from shells, following a series of steps similar to those used for the rings.

All of these objects are difficult to interpret: they could have had symbolic, aesthetic, or ritual value. Similar artifacts are often found in other contemporary sites in Greece and the Balkans, which proves the existence of a common “language” of communication and an exchange network between settlements. Nevertheless, the form in which the objects were exchanged (completed items or raw materials) is unclear.
